Forest Hosted Rest Stop for Gulf Coast Cyclefest
There was picture perfect fall weather for the 2014 Gulf Coast Cyclefest, where The Forest hosted a rest stop for one of the legs on this major road biking event.
It has been forty years since the Sarasota Manatee Bicycle Club
began promoting cycling in the area. Now, with a wealth of history behind them, the club is going strong with their annual Gulf Coast Cyclefest. According to the club, this event is and always has been about the joy of cycling, it's not a race.
The Forest is always proud to support local events happening in the area that promote a healthy active lifestyle. It is the second time the community has hosted a rest stop for the club, this one for their 100-mile leg which is the longest option in the Gulf Coast Cyclefest.
"We are so pleased to be involved with this great event and organization with cycling such a good fit with the lifestyle here at The Forest," said developer managing partner Tom Dabney. "Special thanks to David Hodgkinson with the club who is also soon to be one of our newest residents as his estate home is getting ready to start construction here soon."Brian Wood of Premier Sotheby's International Realty and Dabney were on hand at the rest stop in The Forest Welcome Center where volunteers waited to greet tired riders with refreshments. These riders were more than happy to cool down and take a break. It was a great kickoff to what is expected to be a busy fall/winter season at The Forest with a new model opening and many new residents moving in with the completion of several exciting estate homes.
Next up on the community event calendar is a sneak preview of the new Emerald Homes' Florencia Model with an Asolo Rep Starry Night Dinner.
